Students should be working on the summative media display at home in preparation for the Book Fair on January 25th. Students should also be writing their book review for ONE of the books they have read independently.

We are working on The Merchant of Venice in class.
The major task for this unit is the group scene analysis and commentary which will be outlined next week.
We will be introducing Literature Circles on Tuesday. Our first Literature Circle day will be Thursday. You all need to have chapters 1-4 of Catcher in the Rye read and your Literature Circle work prepared for Thursday!
UPDATE: Due to circumstances beyond anyones control, we will be doing the in-class persuasive essay on Thurs, Nov. 11th and the Debate presentations will take place Fri, Nov 12th.
We will still be starting Catcher in the Rye on Monday.

We are working on Persuasive Poems and will be in the library Nov 3rd and 4th.
We will then be working on formal debates and again will be in the library Nov 5th and 8th.
Debate Presentations will take place in class on Nov 9th and 10th.
In-class Persuasive Essay will be written on Nov 11th.

We will be starting Catcher in the Rye on Nov 15th.
We have just completed Fahrenheit 451 with our final test Monday, October 25th. We will be starting short stories and persuasive writing Tuesday, October 26th.
